The pump control apparatus has a fuel injection device, in which ratio of the number of injection points in time to the number of pumping times at a fuel pump is determined. A stop valve portion stops a portion of control valves, if the set output quantity of an adjusting section is less than or equal to a predetermined value. A valve control section stops the control valves, which works abnormally. The stop valve portion stops a portion of the control valves, if the set output quantity of the adjusting section is less than or equal to predetermined value. An independent claim is included for a pumping method for controlling the output amount of a fuel pump by controlling a control valve disposed on each pump piston of the pump control apparatus. |
