<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sand settling basin in which sands contained in accepted water precipitate, having a device for suppressing stirred up of sands while moving the sands sufficiently. <P>SOLUTION: The sand settling basin in which the sands contained in the accepted water precipitate includes: a transfer path 3 which is provided on a basin bottom and extends in a predetermined direction, and in which the precipitating sands deposit; a discharge port 7 which discharges a fluid in a predetermined direction to the sands depositing in the transfer path 3; and a cover member 38 which covers a part on a shaft L extending from the center of the discharge port 7 toward a predetermined direction in the transfer path 3 from above.
