The present invention provides a long-life sliding seal which allows a first member to smoothly move relative to a second member. A sliding seal (11) seals an annular gap (14) between a first member (12) and a second member (13) to separate a high-pressure side and a low-pressure side from each other, the first member (12) being movable relative to the second member (13). The sliding seal (11) is provided at an annular attaching groove (18) provided at the second member (13). The sliding seal (11) includes: a pressure fluid seal (19) configured to slidingly contact a sliding surface (24) of the first member (12); and a lubricant holding piece (20) provided at the high-pressure side of the pressure fluid seal (19), a lubricant storage space (26) being formed between the lubricant holding piece (20) and the pressure fluid seal (19).
