<p>Disclosed is an apparatus and method in which labels are applied to, and folded around the side walls of, packaging containers. Labels may be applied by a top hold belt (39, fig.5) and folded by folding blades (36, fig.5). Delivery of labels 22 narrow end on, may provide an advantage in a smaller supply reel being needed. In particular, the apparatus and method are applicable to flat horizontal food tray type containers sealed with a flexible membrane, and for which labels are preferred in the C-fold style, extending across the top of the container, and down the side walls of the container, sometimes also folded underneath the bass of the container.</p> |
