<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray irradiation apparatus wherein position adjustment of a dosimeter probe can be accurately performed in a short period of time. <P>SOLUTION: A supporting mechanism of the dosimeter probe includes; an X-ray shielding body 41 which covers a part of the dosimeter probe 7b; and an adjustment mechanism for adjusting a length of the dosimeter probe exposed from the X-ray shielding body 41 by relatively moving the X-ray shielding body 41 to the dosimeter probe 7b. For example, the adjustment mechanism includes a feeding screw 46, mechanisms 40, 45 for moving the X-ray shielding body in the longitudinal direction of the dosimeter probe in response to the rotating amount of the feeding screw 46, and the like.
