<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for appropriately protecting a power switch circuit from an overcurrent. <P>SOLUTION: A power switch protection circuit includes: the power switch circuit; a power switch control circuit for turning on the power switch circuit when both a first circuit element and a second circuit element indicate an on state, and turning off the power switch circuit when at least either of the first circuit element and the second circuit element indicates an off state; a short circuit detection circuit for detecting a short circuit on an output side of the power switch circuit, and outputting a short circuit detection signal which indicates whether or not there is a short circuit detected and switches the first circuit element between the off state and the on state; and a control section for determining whether or not there is a short circuit in accordance with a state change of the short circuit detection signal within a predetermined time, and if determining that there is a short circuit, controlling the power switch control circuit to keep the second circuit element in the off state. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
