<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a character input device that prevents or suppresses wrong input during character input from a software keyboard.SOLUTION: The character input device includes: a word dictionary; adjacent key storage means; character information setting means for, every time a touch panel is pressed, setting information about a first character to be input next by reference to the word dictionary, and setting information about a second character that is a key adjacent to a key of the first character by reference to information in the adjacent key storage means; determination means for determining whether or not the first character and/or the second character is pressed on the basis of coordinate data of a pressed position of the touch panel; and control means for, if it is determined that the pressed position corresponds to the key position of the second character, considering that the key of the first character positioned at the shortest distance from the pressed position of the coordinate data where the touch panel has been pressed is pressed.</p> |
