[Class 20 (iii)] The lifting lever 7 of a vehicle window is actuated by the engagement of a pin 8 thereon with a spiral groove 5<a> formed on a rotatable disc 5. The mechanism is supported by a pair of interconnected plates 1, 2, of which the plate 1 is secured to the vehicle door or body. The lever 7 is mounted on a pin 6 secured to the plate 2 and the free end of the lever is resiliently connected to the window V. The pivot pin 3 of the disc 5 is supported by both plates and passes through a casing 4 which encloses an automatic frictional locking device. The head 3<a> of the pin is adapted to receive the operating handle. The weight of the window may be balanced by a helical spring 9, the ends of whch are secured to the pin 6 and to the lever 7, respectively. In a modified arrangement, the window is raised by a pair of interconnected arms, one of which is provided with the operating mechanism described above, |
