摘要 A method for colorimetric radiation dosimetry includes subjecting an aggregate including a polymeric matrix having uniformly dispersed nanoparticles therein to radiation. The aggregate is soaked in a solution selected to dissolve decomposed pieces of the polymeric matrix to release into the solution nanoparticles from the decomposed pieces. Color of the solution is compared to a reference to determine a dose of radiation based on number of liberated nanoparticles.

A system for colorimetric radiation dosimetry, comprising: an aggregate including a polymeric matrix having uniformly dispersed nanoparticles therein to be subjected to radiation or a potential radiation source, the radiation or the potential radiation source producing decomposed pieces of the aggregate, wherein the extent of the decomposed pieces from the aggregate is dependent upon a dose that the aggregate is subjected to the radiation or potential radiation source; a solution for soaking the aggregate being selected to dissolve the decomposed pieces of the polymeric matrix to release into the solution liberated nanoparticles from the uniformly dispersed nanoparticles that were present in the decomposed pieces of the aggregate including the polymeric matrix having uniformly dispersed nanoparticles; and a color comparison device configured to measure color of the solution with the liberated nanoparticles and compare the color to a reference to determine the dose of radiation based on number of the liberated nanoparticles.
