[Class 115.] In a gravity davit, the davits 27 are mounted on rollers 25, 26 on a carriage K which itself is provided with rollers 21, 31 which travel on guides D, F on fixed arched supports 12. The fall are led from the boat over rollers 28, 29, 30 on the davit and then over rollers 52, 53 to a winch arranged beneath the guide D and comprising a pair of spaced drums 42, 43. On release of the fall, the carriage with the davit moves until the carriage reaches the stops limiting the ends of the guides D, F and the davit then moves alone on the carriage to the boat-lowering position, as shown in Fig. 3. |
