Methods, systems, and devices for configuration and reporting of proximity detection measurements are disclosed herein. User equipment (UE) is configured to receive and store a PD-RS list from an evolved universal terrestrial radio access network (E-UTRAN) node B (eNB). The PD-RS list includes a radio resource configuration for at least a first proximity discovery reference signal (PD-RS). The UE is configured to measure at least the first PD-RS to determine a signal parameter for the first PD-RS. The UE reports the signal parameter for the first PD-RS to the eNB.

1. User equipment (UE) comprising processing circuitry configured to:
receive and store a proximity discovery reference signal (PD-RS) list from an evolved universal terrestrial radio access network (E-UTRAN) node B (eNB), the PD-RS list comprising a radio resource configuration for at least a first PD-RS; receive a restricted discovery mode configuration, wherein the restricted discovery mode configuration configures the UE to only measure PD-RSs listed in the PD-RS list; measure at least the first PD-RS to determine a signal parameter for the first PD-RS; and report the signal parameter for the first PD-RS to the eNB.
