The method is carried out by mixing aqueous monochloroacetic acid solution with aqueous silver nitrate solution, taken in amounts corresponding to the molar ratio of monochloroacetic acid to silver nitrate of 1.0-1.4:1.0, holding the obtained reaction mixture at 20-25°C, separating the precipitate by filtering, washing with water and ethanol and drying.
