CITY BUS STOP AND DOOR OPENING SAFETY CONTROL SYSTEM AND METHOD OF THE SAME

The present invention provides a system for controlling stops of a city bus and safety in opening/closing a bus door and a method thereof, allowing the bus door to be opened and closed only when a vehicle approaches a curbstone of a sidewalk in parallel at a predetermined interval or less by installing a target sensed object on the curbstone in a bus station and installing each sensor on two parts, a front end and a rear end of a side surface of the vehicle, facing the sidewalk. The system for controlling stops of a city bus and safety in opening/closing a bus door comprises: a sensor part, a distance calculation part; a center control part; and a door driving part. The sensor part is installed on the outer lateral surface of a chassis where the bus door for alighting is formed to sense the sidewalk (the curbstone and a platform) of the bus station or the target sensed object formed on the sidewalk. The distance calculation part calculates the distance between the bus and the curbstone based on sensed information and compares the calculated distance with a preset reference distance. The center control part generates a control signal to stop an operation to open the bus door for alighting when the calculated distance is larger than the reference distance based on a comparison result. The door driving part receives the control signal to stop the operation to open the door from the center control part and prevents an opening of the door by blocking the operation of an interconnected door actuator.
