FIELD: physics, video.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of encoding and decoding a video bit stream. The method comprises receiving a first indication signal indicating a decoding process from a video bit stream; selecting said decoding process from a group consisting of a first decoding process and a second decoding process according to the first indication signal; determining CU structure for the current coding unit (CU) associated with the video bit stream using the selected decoding process; restoring the current CU according to the determined CU.
