Provided is a hot water supply system which definitely supplies hot water even when it is impossible to normally cooperate with a hot water supply unit. Installed is a heater for a tank (2) which boils water in a hot water storage tank (4). Installed is a hot water supply unit (3) to heat a water flowing in a hot water outlet pipe (5) to extract water from the hot water storage tank (4). Installed is a bypass pipe (19) having a bypass valve (22) on the hot water outlet pipe (5). Installed is possibility for cooperation determining means to determine if a normal cooperation with the hot water supply unit (3) is possible on a tank control means (26) to control the bypass valve (22). The tank control means (26) opens the bypass valve (22) when it is determined that a normal cooperation with the hot water supply unit (3) is impossible by the possibility for cooperation determining means, and lets a heater for the tank (2) boil the water in the hot water storage tank (4) for a quantity of water in the hot water storage tank (4) to become at a certain quantity or greater. |
