The present invention relates to an apparatus having a function of adjusting a resonance mode for generating a sound and a method thereof. The device adjusts the volume of an outputted sound by adjusting Helmholtz resonance mode without controlling power supply applied to piezoelectric devices when outputting a sound by generating Helmholtz resonance caused by the vibration of the piezoelectric devices. The apparatus for generating a sound comprises: a case part which forms a resonance area having an opened upper part; a vibrating part which is installed in the resonance area; and a variable cover which forms at least one duct part to discharge the air in the resonance area and is mounted on the upper part of the resonance area. The apparatus can easily execute volume adjustment by adjusting the coupling of the variable cover part and the case part to vary the volume of the resonance area, and the volume of a sound can be optimally adjusted at the output of an alarm sound by each user, thereby improving user perception. |
