A high voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission system according to the present invention comprises: a firing signal conversion unit to convert a first firing signal into a second firing signal; a firing signal restoring unit to generate a third firing signal based on the second firing signal; a firing signal comparison unit to generate comparison data based on the first firing signal and the third firing signal; and a firing signal determination unit to determine whether the first firing signal is normal based on the comparison data.
