The device (16) has a heating unit e.g. gas burner (20), for heating fluid, and another heating unit distinct from the former heating unit. The latter heating unit includes a condenser (17) connected to a refrigerant circuit of a heat pump i.e. two block air or water heat pump. The former heating unit is arranged inside a housing (18), and the condenser is placed outside the housing. A backsplash spacer is adapted to fix the housing on a support i.e. wall, by maintaining a clearance between the housing and the support. An independent claim is also included for a method for adapting a wall mounted boiler device.
