The present invention relates to the field of communications. Disclosed are a bandwidth variable modulation method, apparatus and system, which can reduce the number of sub-bands, reduce the complexity of the system and avoid power fading caused by dispersion in optical fiber transmission. The bandwidth variable modulation method comprises: a transmitting end performs first signal modulation on a predetermined number of minimum sub-bands with a same bandwidth B0; transmit a signal obtained after the first signal modulation to a receiving end; receive a bandwidth of a flexible sub-band and a modulation code pattern with a higher-order modulation format that are fed back by the receiving end; the transmitting end performs second signal modulation according to the bandwidth of the flexible sub-band and the modulation code pattern with the higher-order modulation format; and transmit a signal obtained after the second signal modulation to the receiving end. The present invention is mainly used in signal modulation. |
