PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing the fine particles of forsterite in which a production method is simple, and also usable as an insulation material for an electronic small part.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for producing forsterite fine particles obtained by atomizing and drying a solution containing a water-soluble magnesium salt and colloidal silica by the molar ratio of (Mg/Si)2 between magnesium atoms and silicon atoms at a temperature more than 50°C to below 300°C and thereafter firing the same at a temperature of 800 to 1,000°C in the air, in which the particle primary particle diameter by electron microscope observation lies in the range of 1 to 200 nm. |
