PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a socket which prevents a straight tube type lamp from returning to an insertion/removal rotation position.SOLUTION: A power supply side socket 14 includes: a socket body 31; a rotor 32; terminals 33; and rotation inhibition means 57a. The socket body 31 has an insertion port 39 where lamp pins 27 of a straight tube type lamp are inserted or removed. The rotor 32 is rotatably attached to the socket body 31 and may rotate between an insertion/removal rotation position where the rotor 32 allows the lamp pins 27 to be inserted into or removed from the insertion port 39 and an attachment rotation position where the rotor 32 rotates by a predetermined angle with the lamp pins 27. Each terminal 33 is separated from the lamp pin 27 when the rotor 32 is in the insertion/removal rotation position and is electrically connected with the lamp pin 27 rotated with the rotor 32 to the attachment rotation position. The rotation inhibition means 57a inhibits the rotor 32 from rotating relative to the socket body 31 in an intermediate rotation position located between the insertion/removal rotation position and the attachment rotation position of the rotor 32 and in which the lamp pins 27 are separated from the terminals 33.
