PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a turning mechanism for turning a display unit relatively to a housing while enlarging the display unit without growing a size of an image capturing apparatus.SOLUTION: An image capturing apparatus comprises: an image capturing device disposed inside a housing; and a holding unit held by an image capturer upon an image capture. A first turning axis substantially orthogonal to an optical axis is disposed in the holding unit. A display unit on which an image captured by the image capturing device is displayed turns relatively to the housing around the first turning axis while freely opened/closed. Thereby, a turning mechanism can be provided for turning the display unit relatively to the housing while enlarging the display unit without growing a size of the image capturing apparatus.
