PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce system boot time required in updating BIOS set values.SOLUTION: An information processing apparatus includes: BIOS execution means which executes initialization of hardware; BIOS set value storage means for storing BIOS set values including the kind and set values of hardware to be initialized; and BIOS set value updating means for updating the BIOS set values. After the BIOS execution means initializes hardware required for communication between the BIOS set value storage means, the BIOS execution means, and the BIOS set value updating means, the BIOS set value updating means updates the BIOS set values, and the BIOS execution means initializes the hardware to be initialized, on the basis of the BIOS set values updated by the BIOS set value updating means.
