摘要 Embodiments provide platforms and techniques for, modeling, simulating, and/or analyzing lighting, including daylighting, in architectural spaces. For example, lighting performance properties can be associated with structural components defined as building geometry of architectural space models, and environmental daylighting models can be formulated in association with designated geographical locations and orientations, and keytimes. A lighting rendering engine can compute lighting rendering data by ray-tracing the architectural space model as a function of the structural components, the lighting performance properties, and the environmental daylighting model at each keytime. The lighting rendering data can be used to output images can be output that graphically represent, for each keytime, a depiction of the architectural space model and a distributed lighting performance metric.

A method for simulation and analysis of lighting performance in architectural modeling environments, the method comprising: associating, with a processor-implemented lighting modeling engine, lighting performance properties with a plurality of structural components defined as building geometry of an architectural space model in a three-dimensional computer-aided design (3D CAD) environment; formulating an environmental daylighting model associated with a designated geographical location for the architectural space model, a designated orientation for the architectural space model, and a plurality of keytimes; communicating the architectural space model and the environmental daylighting model to a lighting rendering engine remote from the lighting modeling engine; receiving, at the lighting modeling engine from the lighting rendering engine, lighting rendering data computed by the daylighting rendering engine by ray-tracing the architectural space model as a function of the structural components, the lighting performance properties, and the environmental daylighting model at each keytime; and outputting, via an interface of the lighting modeling engine, a plurality of images, each graphically representing, for a respective one of the keytimes, a depiction of the architectural space model and a distributed lighting performance metric computed as a function of the lighting rendering data.
