BO BOGIE FOR ELECTRIC FREIGHT LOCOMOTIVE

A Bo bogie for an electric freight locomotive. The Bo bogie comprises a framework (10), two wheel sets and two wheel set driving systems (14) for driving the wheel sets. A derailment protection bar (19) crossing rails is arranged on the framework at the side facing the rails, and the distance between the derailment protection bar and the ground is smaller than the distance between the wheel set driving systems and the ground. The derailment protection bar rides on the rail surface of the rails once the locomotive derails. Because the driving system is higher than the derailment protection bar, a gear case, a motor and other critical parts in the driving system may not contact with the rails. Consequently, the gear case, the driving motor and other critical parts in the driving system are effectively protected during a derailment accident.
