PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide means for preventing the change in temperature of a fixing belt, to prevent a fixing failure of toner.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: a fixing member which heats a medium to fix developer; a plurality of heating means for supplying heat to the fixing member; temperature detection means for detecting a temperature of the fixing member; heating control means for controlling the amount of heat generated by the heating means, on the basis of the temperature detected by the temperature detection means; and selection means for selecting heating means to generate heat, out of the plurality of heating means. The heating control means causes one heating means, which is selected by the selection means from among the above heating means, to generate a larger amount of heat than the other heating means. |
