Abstract Described herein is a concentrated solar thermal cavity receiver and a method of designing a concentrated solar thermal cavity receiver. In one embodiment, a concentrated solar thermal cavity receiver comprises: A. a concave surface comprising a plurality of surfaces defining a cavity; and B. an aperture for receiving solar radiation onto said surfaces.
