The present invention relates to a secondary battery capable of acting as tension by forming a contact part contacting the bottom surface of a case in a bottom retainer. The secondary battery according to the present invention comprises: an electrode assembly having a first electrode, a second electrode and a separator intervened between the first electrode and the second electrode; a case to receive the electrode assembly inside, wherein an upper end thereof has an aperture; a cap plate to seal the aperture of the case; and a bottom retainer disposed in the inside of a bottom surface of the case, wherein the bottom retainer includes a support part to support the electrode assembly and at least one contact part in contact with the bottom surface of the case. According to such a constitution, safety of the secondary battery can be improved, and further, the contact part of the bottom retainer adsorbs an external impact, thereby improving durability. |
