PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of operating a fuel battery system in which a series of steps when the operation of a fuel gas generating device is stopped can be performed in a manner preferable to various devices.SOLUTION: In a method of operating a fuel battery system, an operation control device C performs a cooling step of cooling a fuel gas generating device R so that the temperature of the fuel gas generating device R decreases to a stop processing completion temperature while maintaining a reforming stop state under which supply of raw material gas to the fuel gas generating device R is stopped. In the cooling step, the operation control device C performs one of short-time cooling control of operating a cooling device (a flow rate adjusting valve V3 and a blower 13) so that the temperature of the fuel gas generating device R is reduced to the stop processing completion temperature in a relatively short time, and long-time cooling control of operating the cooling device (the flow rate adjusting valve and the blower 13) so that the temperature of the fuel gas generating device R is reduced to the stop processing completion temperature in a relatively long time, and the length of the cooling step is not less than a set determination period. |
