<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can perform accurate control of transfer voltage while reducing downtime.SOLUTION: During a preparation operation, control means 150 applies a voltage having the same polarity as that during transfer to transfer means to determine a first voltage value to obtain a first current value, applies a voltage having the reverse polarity to that during transfer to determine a second voltage value to obtain a second current value, and determines a correction value indicating the relationship between the first voltage value and the second voltage value. After the preparation operation, and while a toner image for adjustment formed in a non-image area on an image carrier passes through a transfer unit, the control means 150 applies a voltage having the reverse polarity to that during transfer to the transfer means to determine a third voltage value to obtain a third current value. The control means 150 applies a voltage to the transfer means during the subsequent transfer on the basis of the third voltage value and the correction value.</p> |
