PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water pump which enhances a water supplying property to a slide bearing sliding surface provided in the inside of a pump, and improves low frictional characteristics and wear resistance of the slide bearing.SOLUTION: A water pump 1 includes: an impeller 4; a shaft 5 for fixing the impeller 4; a slide bearing 8 which rotatably supporting the impeller 4 to the shaft 5; thrust plates 9 and 10 sliding with end surfaces of the slide bearing 8; and a casing 6 and a cover 7 which store the impeller 4 and form a pump chamber. Circulating water is sucked/discharged through the pump chamber by rotations of the impeller 4. The water pump is equipped with at least either one of suction means for sucking the circulating water from one end surface side of the slide bearing 8 to a bearing inner-diameter side, or discharging means for discharging the circulating water from the bearing inner-diameter surface side of the slide bearing 8 to the other end surface side, by relative rotations of the thrust plates 9 and 10 and the slide bearing 8. |
