PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector which can be detached by one operation and which is suitable for reducing the diameter.SOLUTION: An optical connector 100 includes a latch piece 120 including a locking projection 125 projecting on both sides in the width direction at the rear end and a notch 127 formed from the rear end toward the front end. A slider 150 is disposed at the rear side of the direction of inserting a sleeve so as to be displaceable toward the rear in the insertion direction with respect to a stopper 113. A pressing projection 160 is disposed at a position where the notch 127 of the latch piece 120 is positioned and is connected and fixed to the slider 150 via a coupling part 165 which penetrates through the notch 127. A slider energizing portion presses the slider 150 toward the insertion direction with respect to the stopper 113. When removing from an adaptor, the slider 150 is displaced to the rear of the insertion direction against the pressing force of the slider energizing portion, whereby the latch piece 120 is pressed down by the pressing projection 160 and the engagement with the adaptor is released.
