PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a decomposition catalyst body for an organic compound, which produces excellent adsorption and decomposition performance and excellent efficiency thereof even for an organic compound having a low concentration; a method for producing the same; and an adsorption and decomposition method for an organic compound.SOLUTION: A decomposition catalyst body for an organic compound is employed in adsorption and decomposition for the organic compound using ozone. The decomposition catalyst body is a porous composite oxide obtainable by sol-gel method, in which ions of at least one kind of metal selected from the group consisting of Mn, Cu, Ni, and Co are approximately uniformly dispersed and exist as network-modifying ions in a network of a three-dimensional network structure crosslinked by siloxane bond.
