PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel method of producing 5-aminolevulinic acid using microorganisms.SOLUTION: A method of producing 5-aminolevulinic acid or salt thereof is characterized by culturing 5-aminolevulinic acid-producing microorganisms by performing one or more operations of extracting a culture solution during culturing and inputting a fresh culture medium with the amount of yeast extract of 1 g/L or more.
