<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a metal body detecting device for precisely detecting the existing position of a metal body.SOLUTION: In a metal body detecting device, a plurality of drive signal electrode lines mutually running side by side and a plurality of signal detection electrode lines mutually running side by side cross each other are wired in a lattice to mainly constitute a flat touch panel body. The metal body detecting device is used, which includes contact position detection means that has a grounded conductor guide in contact with a metal body in contact with a touch surface with a surface of a protection insulator provided on the surface of the touch panel body as the touch surface, and detects the contact position of the metal body onto the touch surface by detecting the amount of stored charge in electrostatic capacity formed in an intersection between the drive signal electrode lines and the signal detection electrode lines.</p> |
