A flow table entry management method and device are disclosed. After receiving a management instruction for any flow table entry from any controller connected with any switch, said any switch can firstly judge, according to the obtained management authority level of said any controller relative to said any switch and the safety level of said any flow table entry, whether the management authority level of said any controller relative to said any switch is not lower than the safety level of said any flow table entry corresponding to the management instruction initiated by said any controller, determine that said any controller has the authority to perform corresponding management on said any flow table entry when it is determined that the judging result is yes, and perform corresponding management on said any flow table entry according to the management instruction initiated by said any controller, thereby achieving the purpose of protecting the flow table entry effectively and improving the system security furthermore on the basis of avoiding the operation phenomena of deleting or modifying the flow table entry arbitrarily and so forth. |
