THIS invention relates to an apparatus for separating packaging from packaged product More specifically, the invention relates to an apparatus for opening packets of product which for some or other reason have been rejected following a packaging operation- or are returned from trade. The apparatus includes a duct defining an inlet port for operatively introducing packaged product into the duct, a curler for cutting the packaging of the packaged product thereby to operatively at least partially release tie product from the packaging, a separator for separating the packaging from the product and a primary means for conveying the packaged product downstream through the duct from the inlet port, past the cutter and info the separator the primary conveying means being a rials displacement conveying means.
