<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal thallium production method for efficiently producing high-purity metal thallium from a thallium halide containing impurities.SOLUTION: In a method for producing metal thallium, a thallium halide containing impurities is subjected to carbonation, and acid or alkali leaching to reduce the impurities, and then molten by adding an alkali metal salt and a reduction source, and the obtained crude thallium is highly purified by electrolytic refining. The method for producing metal thallium performs the steps of: mixing a thallium halide containing impurities with an alkaline solution to recover solids by solid-liquid separation; melting the recovered solids by adding an alkali metal salt and a reduction source to obtain crude thallium; and obtaining high-purity metal thallium from the crude thallium by electrolytic refining.
