The invention is related to a lubrication system for lubricating a steel wire rope, the lubrication system (16) being arranged to be used in connection with an arrangement (10), with the lubrication system (16) including : a pipework (18) arranged to be installed in the vicinity of a rope reel (14) for supplying lubricating oil from a lubricating oil tank (32), at least one nozzle (20) connected to the pipework (18) for spraying lubricating oil onto a steel wire rope (12) while the steel wire rope (12) is wound around the rope reel (14), the nozzle (20) being arranged to be installed in connection with the rope reel (14), a pump (24) for pumping lubricating oil arranged in connection with the pipework (18), and control equipment for operating said pump (24). The pump (24) is a high-pressure pump (24) for supplying lubricating oil at a pressure of 20 - 100 bar, advantageously 40 - 70 bar. The invention is also related to an arrangement and a method for lubricating a steel wire rope. |
