PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulic shock absorber which can stably adjust an attenuation force by preventing step-out of an electric motor with a simple structure.SOLUTION: A hydraulic shock absorber 1 comprises attenuation force generation means (elongation-side attenuation valve 19 and pressure-side attenuation valve 20), and attenuation force adjustment means. The attenuation force adjustment means includes: a push rod 33 which makes variable an opening area of an oil passage 36 which is formed at a piston rod 3; a stepping motor (electric motor) 34; and a feed screw mechanism 35 which converts the rotation of the stepping motor 34 into linear movement of the push rod 33. The hydraulic shock absorber also comprises: a second slider 46 which is movably fit to a first slider 43 of the feed screw mechanism 35 which is screwed to an output shaft 34a of the stepping motor 34 so as to be advanced and retracted; and a set spring 45 which presses the second slider 46 to one end of the push rod 33. |
