[Classes 99 (i) and 99 (ii)] A member for connecting adjacent tubes of an assembly comprises a pair of elbow bends 1, integral with the tubes or to which the tubes are screwed, welded, &c., provided with abutting jointing flanges 3 and also coplanar rectangular, &c., flanges 2, the latter forming a continuous wall in the complete assembly. An inspection or cleaning aperture 5 normally closed by a threaded plug 6 or a two-part member 6a, 6<c> is also provided in each bend opposite the tube connected thereto. The upper and lower edges of the flanges 2 are preferably formed with grooves 4 to receive packing material.
