<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control a light distribution state with simple constitution and to reduce the glare to a vehicle traveling ahead.SOLUTION: There is provided a light distribution control device that finds an angleθ1 indicating the position of a right outer edge of a vehicle 101 traveling ahead (viewed from a self-vehicle) and an angleθ2 indicating the position of a left outer edge (viewed from the self-vehicle) based upon an image picked up based upon substantially the center of the self-vehicle 100, finds anglesα1,α2 defining a range of irradiation by the right headlight of the self-vehicle and anglesβ1,β2 defining a range of irradiation by the left headlight of the self-vehicle fromα1=θ1+(θ1-θ2)×(1.0-k1)/2,β2=θ2-(θ1-θ2)×(1.0-k2)/2,α2=θ2-k3(θ1-θ2), andβ1=θ1+k4(θ1-θ2) by using those anglesθ1,θ2 and prescribed coefficients k1 to k4, and generates a light distribution control signal based upon those angles.</p> |
