<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet printer including a choke part which reduces channel resistance caused when an ink passage is opened.SOLUTION: An ink jet printer 1 includes: an ink passage 35 communicating with a printing head 12; and a choke part 46 which closes the ink passage 35. The choke part 46 includes: a diaphragm valve 75 forming one portion of a wall of the ink passage 35; a valve body moving mechanism 76 which moves the diaphragm valve 75 between a passage closing position 75A where the diaphragm valve 75 contacts with a facing wall portion (a bottom surface 67a of a recessed part 67) facing the diaphragm valve 75 on a wall and a passage open position 75B where the diaphragm valve 75 is separated from the facing wall portion; and a driving motor 47 serving as a driving source. The valve body moving mechanism 76 is formed at the outer side of the ink passage 35.</p> |
