A lead-acid storage battery has an electrode group and an electrolyte. The electrode group is formed by layering a positive electrode, including a first active material and a first current collector, and a negative electrode, including a second active material and a second current collector, with a separator disposed therebetween. At least one of the first and second current collectors is formed by an expanded grid having a plurality of rhombic grid units as a main body. On an upper end side of the expanded grid, a beam portion to which a tab is connected is provided. On the other hand, on end sides extending in the vertical direction, no beam portion is provided. In at least one of the positive electrode and the negative electrode including the expanded grid, at least one of two lower corners separated from the tab out of the four corners is linearly chamfered. An entry angle (θ1) of a section line for the chamfering with respect to a lower side of the positive electrode and/or the negative electrode chamfered is equal to or lower than an entry angle (θ2) of a continuous line formed by a continuation of one sides of the plurality of rhombic grid units.
