The dimming device includes light shield members 10 and 20 which move into and out of an optical path between the light source device and optical modulation device, the light shield members 10 and 20 have light shield plates 11, 12 and 21, 22 stacked in two layers or more from a side on the optical path close to the light source device to a side far away from the light source device, and the cooling device can control the cooling air A so that at least part of the cooling air passes between the light shield plates stacked in two layers or more, at least one light shield plate having opening parts 11d and 21d having opening area in a direction in which the cooling air flows as passing openings for the cooling air supplied from the cooling device.</p> |
