A rectangular battery wherein an electrical insulation sheet (8) is arranged between an electrode group and a sealing plate and has a main flat plate section (80), a pair of first flat plate sections (81), and a pair of first folding sections (82). The main flat plate section (80): has an outer rim including a pair of first sides (80a) extending substantially parallel and a window (86) through which an electrode tab passes; faces an end surface of the electrode group, inside the rectangular battery, in a state in which the electrode tab has passed through the window (86); and is arranged such that the first sides (80a) follow an inner surface of an external can. The pair of first flat plate sections (81) are each connected to the pair of first sides (80a), respectively, in the main flat plate section (80). The pair of first folding sections (82) are each provided along the pair of first sides (80a) of the main flat plate section (80) and are configured such that the first flat plate sections (81) can stand up from the main flat plate section (80).
