<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve identification accuracy of an object. <P>SOLUTION: A vehicle exterior environment recognizing device 130 retains a plurality of color identifiers and luminance ranges associated with each other, acquires an image obtained by capturing vehicle exterior environment, divides a detection area of the image into a plurality of specific areas according to the positional relations relative to a self vehicle (S306), resets a luminance range associated with the color identifier for every specific area (S308), sets the color identifier to an object site on the basis of the luminance of a plurality of object sites in the detection area, and the luminance range reset for a specific area where the object site is located (310), and groups one or a plurality of object sites in which a difference in a horizontal distance and a difference in height are present in the predetermined range (S312). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
