<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL element which improves luminous efficiency and lowers a driving voltage.SOLUTION: An organic EL element 1 comprises: an anode 3; a first organic layer 4; an intermediate electrode 5; a second organic layer 6; and a cathode 7 on a substrate 2. The intermediate electrode 5 includes at least one layer of a metal film 52, and the metal film 52 is a discontinuous film including a metal having particles growing into pillar shapes. Further, a layer, which contacts with the anode 3 side of the metal film 52, is a layer 51 containing an alkali metal or an alkali earth metal or a layer including a compound containing alkali metal ions or alkali earth metal ions.</p> |
