This invention relates to a printer, an information processing apparatus, control methods for the printer and the information processing apparatus, and a storage medium. The printer is connected to the information processing apparatus to receive image data and commands including a normal command and a real-time command to be processed prior to the normal command.
In the printer, a receiver receives a real-time processing disable command with a parameter indicating a number of bytes of image data. A processor in the printer, after processing the real-time processing disable command, processes received image data in terms of the number of bytes without processing the real-time command.
