<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a dead copy as a semiconductor element from being made by a microcomputer, and to keep a program, data, etc., secret by disabling the contents of a memory to be read. <P>SOLUTION: The program and data of the microcomputer are enciphered using as a cipher key identification information generated based upon physical characteristics as a result of manufacture of a semiconductor chip. The microcomputer includes means of generating the identification information on the basis of the physical characteristics and a ciphering engine which ciphers the program and data using the identification information as the cipher key, the value of the cipher key used for the ciphering being inhibited from being read out. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
